Dry Sift Screen Quote Units: Individual Frames vs Complete Sets

Does an order for 20 dry sift screens mean 20 frames or 20 sets? It is ambiguous unless the quotation defines the unit. A set contains multiple specified frames; an individual-frame line represents one screen. Specify both the number of sets and the total quantity of each frame specification.

The EXTRACTPHYTO dry sift screen range supports individual and set orders. This guide addresses order arithmetic and quotation comparison, rather than which aperture to choose.

Start with the quoted unit, not the headline price

The 16 × 20 inch product listing identifies polyester mesh, aluminum frames and individual-frame availability. The product name includes both set and single options. A quotation must resolve that choice: the title alone does not define the contents of an order.

Ask for the unit of sale beside every price. Useful descriptions are “per individual frame of specification A” or “per complete set containing one A, one B and one C.” Avoid a bare “piece” when one party might mean a packaged set and the other a frame.

Convert the set schedule into a frame schedule

Illustrative quantities only—not an EXTRACTPHYTO standard set, minimum order or price offer: suppose a buyer requests 12 sets, each containing one frame A, one B and one C, plus four spare B frames. A, B and C represent separately approved mesh specifications with the same agreed frame design.

Frame specification Inside 12 sets Additional singles Total frames
A 12 0 12
B 12 4 16
C 12 0 12
Total 36 4 40

The commercial order has 12 complete sets and four individual frames, but the physical count is 40 frames. Neither 16 nor 40 should be entered in a field labeled “sets.” Keep the component schedule with the purchase order so production and receiving use the same count.

Compare equivalent configurations

If the quoted price of one complete A/B/C set is S and one additional B frame is B, the product subtotal is 12 × S + 4 × B. Add separately quoted packaging or other charges once, using their stated billing units. This expression is a comparison method, not a current price quotation.

A competing offer with two frames per set cannot be compared using the set price alone. First reconcile frame dimensions, fabric references, aperture specifications and quantities. Even dividing a set price by its frame count does not prove that a spare of one particular specification has the same unit price.

Keep product count separate from carton count

Ask whether each set is individually packed and where the spare frames will be placed. Twelve sets do not necessarily mean twelve shipping cartons. Record carton identifiers and contents after the packing arrangement is confirmed; do not infer freight volume from the number of sets.

Private-label orders also need a clear answer on whether labels apply to each frame, each set package or the outer carton. Describe these as separate items if they affect the quotation. Keep artwork approval and shipping arrangements outside the numerical frame schedule.

What should the purchase order say?

A useful line reads: “12 sets; each set contains one A, one B and one C according to specification revision [reference]; plus four B frames supplied separately.” Replace the placeholders with confirmed references, not only color names. For dimensional definitions, use the frame size and usable-area guide.

At receipt, reconcile complete sets and loose frames against the component schedule, then use the wholesale inspection checklist for condition and identification. A correct total count does not establish correct mesh specifications or acceptable quality.
