Dry Sift Screen Packaging: Protecting Frames and Mesh in Transit

How should dry sift screens be packaged for a wholesale shipment? Agree a packaging design that supports the frames, keeps pressure and abrasion away from the mesh, prevents movement between units and identifies the contents of each carton. The appropriate design depends on the frame configuration, quantity and transport route; “export packaging” alone is not a complete specification.

This guide addresses packing approval and receiving records. It does not prescribe a universal carton strength, stacking limit or number of screens per box.

Define the shipment before choosing the packaging

The 16 × 20 inch screen listing describes polyester mesh on aluminum frames and offers individual frames as well as sets. A shipment of identical single frames and a shipment of mixed-specification sets need different identification and counting arrangements. Confirm the actual outside dimensions and frame profile before approving a packing drawing; a catalogue size is not the packed carton size.

Record whether the order contains complete sets, spare frames or both. List the number and specification of frames in each set. For dimension terminology, use the frame size versus usable area guide. Keep the final packing specification linked to the approved product drawing.

Ask how the design protects the mesh

Request photographs or a drawing showing where separators and supports contact the product. Packaging should prevent hard corners, loose accessories or another frame from rubbing against the screening surface. Ask how the outer package carries compression without transferring it directly to unsupported mesh.

A top-view photograph of a closed carton cannot show this. Ask for an open-carton view and a view of the separation between adjacent units. If straps are used, have the supplier explain how strap pressure is distributed. Do not specify a tight strap across exposed mesh as a substitute for a suitable support design.

Match packing to the handling route

Tell the supplier whether goods will travel as parcels, consolidated freight or palletized cargo, and whether a distributor will unpack and reship individual units. A bulk pack suitable for one direct delivery may require additional inner protection for onward parcel shipping. Ask for those two packing scopes separately in the quotation.

Confirm any pallet arrangement, orientation and stacking restrictions in writing. Do not infer load-bearing capacity from frame material or product photographs. If transit testing is required, agree the method, package configuration and evidence before ordering; a photograph is not a test report, and this guide does not claim a tested packaging rating.

Keep identification readable without touching the working surface

Agree where product and carton identifiers will be placed. A useful carton list links the purchase order, carton number, frame quantity and individual specifications. Keep adhesive labels and loose paperwork away from the mesh unless the supplier has confirmed a suitable method.

For mixed sets, request an unambiguous set identifier and a contents list. This helps a warehouse distinguish a missing frame from a separately packed accessory or spare. Label color alone should not replace the written specification.

Prepare a receiving record before dispatch

Ask for packing photographs tied to the shipment reference. On receipt, record carton identifiers and visible damage before discarding the packaging. Compare quantities and specifications with the packing list, then check frame condition and visible mesh damage without applying an improvised load test.

If a discrepancy appears, preserve the relevant packaging and photographs, identify the affected units and contact the supplier and carrier under the agreed terms. A receiving record documents observations; it does not by itself determine responsibility or guarantee compensation.

Request a packing proposal with your screen quotation

EXTRACTPHYTO is a China-based manufacturer of dry sift screens with OEM and wholesale options. Include the frame drawing, quantity, set composition, destination and onward-distribution plan in your request. Ask which packing options are available and what is included in the quoted price. Final carton dimensions, protection materials and shipment terms require order-specific confirmation.

Request an EXTRACTPHYTO quotation or email your requirements. Include your company, product specification, quantity and destination.
