Dry Sift Screen Mesh Color: What Buyers Should Specify

Does dry sift screen mesh color tell you its micron rating? Color alone is not a purchase specification. Identify the mesh material and aperture separately, then record the required color and how it will be approved. Do not assume that a yellow screen and a white screen are equivalent, or different in filtration performance, merely because of their appearance.

This guide addresses color approval for purchasing and private-label orders. It does not assign a processing advantage, quality grade or filtration rating to a particular color.

Separate appearance from the mesh specification

The EXTRACTPHYTO 16 × 20 inch product page describes polyester mesh on aluminum frames and includes a mesh-color selection. The Dry Sift Screen range also lists mesh color among its customization options. Availability of a particular color must still be confirmed for the requested mesh and order quantity.

Write the order as separate fields: material, nominal aperture, agreed mesh reference, frame dimensions, color and quantity. This makes it possible to identify whether a proposed change affects appearance only or also changes the underlying fabric. A request for “the yellow one in the picture” leaves those distinctions unresolved.

Use a physical reference when shade matters

A website photograph helps identify a product, but lighting, camera processing and the buyer’s display affect the appearance of a color. If shade consistency matters to your brand, ask for a physical sample or swatch and agree which reference controls approval.

Record the reference identifier and approval date. Keep a reference with the buyer and ask how the supplier will retain its corresponding standard. If a color code is proposed, confirm what it refers to and whether it can be applied meaningfully to the selected mesh. Do not silently substitute a general printed color chart for an approved fabric sample.

Order field What to record
Mesh identity Material, aperture and supplier fabric reference
Color requirement Supplier color name or agreed reference
Approval basis Physical swatch, sample screen or other agreed method
Permitted variation Acceptance criteria agreed with the supplier
Substitution rule Whether written approval is required before a change
Repeat order link Approved reference and specification revision

Ask whether another color means another fabric

If the requested color is unavailable, ask the supplier to identify the proposed alternative by its complete mesh specification. Compare the material, aperture and any other agreed fabric properties before approving it. Matching the nominal mesh count alone does not establish that every relevant property remains unchanged.

Where an aperture report is required, keep that evidence separate from the color approval. The aperture report guide explains what the measurement record should identify. A color sample cannot replace dimensional measurement, and a dimensional report does not prove that an appearance requirement was met.

Keep identification labels independent of color

Color can be a useful internal visual cue if your organization defines and maintains the mapping. It should not be the only way a warehouse identifies a replacement screen. Put the agreed aperture and item reference on the order and request the required product or packaging identification.

For mixed sets, list each screen separately. If two screens share a color, their labels should still distinguish the ordered specifications. If your distributor catalog uses color names, connect each listing to the supplier reference rather than relying on a photograph that may later be replaced.

Review a delivery against the same approval basis

Check delivered identification against the order first, then assess appearance using the agreed reference and conditions. Record a discrepancy with the item, quantity, reference and photographs. A photograph can document a concern, but the agreed comparison method should govern the decision when color is disputed.

Keep appearance findings separate from damage, aperture or frame issues. This lets the supplier respond to the actual requirement that was not met, rather than treating every difference as a general quality complaint.

Request the color option with your screen quote

EXTRACTPHYTO is a China-based manufacturer. Include frame size, mesh or micron requirement, preferred color, quantity and destination in your enquiry. State whether color is a preference or a required approval item, and ask for available combinations, sample terms and any effect on lead time. This article does not promise a particular shade or stock quantity.
